Movavi Video Converter
The ideal way to get your media in the format you need!
It’s widely known that M4R is the basic format for iOS device ringtones. If you want to impress your friends by creating your own custom ringtone, you’ll most likely need to convert MP3 to M4R. Movavi Video Converter is the best bet in this case as it’ll convert your tracks – both MP3 to M4R and M4R to MP3 – in a second and turn the whole thing around quickly and easily. Just download the program for Windows or Mac and start converting.
Download and run the distribution file, and follow the installation instructions.
Click the Add Media button, select Add Audio, browse your hard drive and choose the audio files you want to convert to M4R or MP3. You can add multiple files to convert in one go.
If you want to convert your file to M4R, open the Audio tab, click the Audio for Apple preset group, and choose the M4R preset for conversion.
M4R is an iPhone ringtone format. As iPhone ringtones are supposed to last no more than 40 seconds, you'll need to trim the track to meet the time limit cap. If you want to use a part of the song from the very middle as your ringtone, you’ll need to trim the song. Click Edit and the Trim tab in the editing window will open. Move the slider to the place where the ringtone should start and click Cut. Then put the slider to the place where the ringtone should end and click Cut once more. The track will be separated into three parts. To get the one you want, you need to click on the two unwanted parts and select Delete fragment.
If you just need a fragment that is at the beginning or the end of the song, put the slider to the place at which the ringtone should end (for a beginning fragment) or start (for an end fragment). Then click the Cut button, select the part that you don't want, and hit Delete fragment.
Click the Folder button to specify the folder in which you want to save the output files. Click Convert to start the process. Once the conversion is complete, the destination folder will open automatically.
Connect your phone to the computer and open iTunes. Once your iOS device is identified, drag the ringtone you created with Movavi Converter into the On My Device area of iTunes. You’ve copied the file to your smartphone.
Congrats on adding your ringtone to iTunes! Now you can change ringtones to match your mood anytime!
