TikTok Video Sizes

Click on the Add Files button. This will open a prompt to browse for your video on your computer. Select the video you want to use, and the program will add it to your Project files. Once you have all the videos and/or GIFs you want in the Project files, drag your video to your Timeline.

Movavi Video Editor offers several preset aspect ratios for different platforms, including TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. Select your video clip in the Timeline. Then, under the video preview, click on the list with aspect ratios. This will appear as a ratio of two numbers, such as 16:9 or 4:3. When you click on it, you’ll see a dropdown menu with preset aspect ratios for different platforms. Click on the one you want or, if you don’t see the one you want, click on the Settings option to choose from even more options. Remember, for most TikTok videos, you’ll want to choose 9:16, but some ads can be in 16:9 or 1:1.

After you set the appropriate aspect ratio for your TikTok feed video or ad video, take a moment to look through the options to add effects, transitions, and other enhancements to your video. While you can make light edits to videos in TikTok, a platform like Movavi Video Editor gives you a full range of pro-level editing tools to create exactly the video you want – in less time than it would take to edit them on your phone in an app. We recommend exploring filters, overlays, chroma key, and other features to create the look and feel you want for your TikTok videos. Also, if your video’s audio doesn’t sound quite right, you can edit it in the audio track, as well. 

Once you’ve finished with your edits, it’s time to export and save your video. Click the Export button on the right side of the screen. Before you save your video, you’ll need to ensure that it is saved in the right format and that the file size is appropriate for TikTok. To do this, choose the appropriate format (MOV or MP4) from the Save video file tab and then click the Advanced button. Here, you can choose the appropriate resolution (see the tables above for reference) for your video. If your video is within TikTok’s time constraints, you shouldn’t have any trouble with file size. However, if you find that your video file is too large, you can save it at a slightly lower resolution.

When you have your file format and resolution set, hit the Start button to save your video to your computer or to a destination in the cloud. Either way, your video is now ready to publish to TikTok!

To upload a video file and/or other media files to Fastreel, you can either drag and drop your files to the designated area in the middle of the window, or you can click the blue Add Your Files button to browse for your files on your computer. If you’ve saved your video to Dropbox, click on the down-arrow button next to the Add Your Files button to access Dropbox directly.

Use the aspect ratio tool to choose the appropriate dimensions for your video, based on the tables above. The program makes this especially easy, as it has presets designed specifically for social networks. Plus, when you resize your video, you’ll have the option to leave the black bars in or take them out, as well.

Click on the Export Result button to export and save your video. Here, you’ll find options to adjust the export settings for your video, including settings for TikTok videos to ensure that your video fits TikTok’s parameters perfectly. Once you’ve selected the right settings for your video, save your video.
